They later had lands also in Scotland. Apparently a lot emigrated to Ireland in 15,16,17th centuries, particularly the Donegal area.<\/p>\n<p>On my branch of Ruddens, I&#8217;ve found out that my gr-gr-grandfather was James Rudden, born in Ireland about 1840. He moved with some others to Lancashire in about 1850. His family, and his brother Owen&#8217;s family, (and perhaps some others) moved to Bradford, Yorkshire in about 1870.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My gr-grandfather was John Rudden, married to Mary. Their offspring were James,Mary,Alice,John Joseph and my grandfather Tom, he moved from Bradford to Leicester about 1920.<\/p>\n<p>The message from Gina is interesting, regarding the Bradford\/South Africa link &#8211; my great-uncle James Rudden (born 1885 and died in WW1 in the Somme)was married to Hannah, they had a son called James, who I believe had a son called Philip, who moved to South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it would be great to hear from anyone, especially if you recognise a connection with any of this,if you have links to Bradford\/ Skipton, there is probably a connection there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, well this is good, a Rudden site!
