The 1641 Depositions and their historical backdrop (video content)

The 1641 Depositions are witness testimonies mainly by Protestants, but also by some Catholics, from all social backgrounds, concerning their experiences of the 1641 Irish rebellion.

It is interesting to find in a testimony by an Arthur Culme the perhaps unsurprising news that ” Henry Ashe of Cavan & Patrick Ruddin* of Cavan whom I have seene to beare Armes with the Rebells And is Crediblie informed that they are rebelles”

Is this the earliest mention of a ‘Rudden’ in Ireland…?
